Compiled records of BIBB COUNTY, ALABAMA PIONEERS VOLUME I

Compiled records of BIBB COUNTY, ALABAMA PIONEERS VOLUME I Review

During the "Alabama Fever" period of United States history, early settlers migrated to Alabama from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee in search of more land to grow tobacco and/or distance themselves from the Revolutionary War.

Marriage prospects were limited in frontier Alabama so the children of these early pioneers often married the sons and daughters of their traveling companions and/or their nearest neighbors sons and daughters. This resulted in closely related families in communities. Many times, sisters and brothers from one family married the sisters and brothers of a neighboring family creating multiple family connections.

The pioneers settled and remained in Alabama for a number of years and most had 10 to 20 children, sometimes more with several wives. The descendants of these early Alabama pioneers moved further west in search of new frontiers around the time of the Civil War. They migrated to Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and even as far as California and Alaska. People throughout the United States of America may discover their roots trace back to early Alabama.

This 245 page E-BOOK is valuable for anyone researching early pioneers of central Alabama. It is the first in a series on Bibb County, Alabama pioneers from the website www.alabamapioneers.com. Save yourself hours of genealogy research with this 245 page E-book of compiled records.

Bibb County, Alabama Pioneers Volume I focuses on the pioneer families of FREDERICK MONROE JAMES (b. 1793-d. 1863) ADAM JAMES (1800-1884) HOPKINS LEE (b. 1765-d. 1834) STEELE FAMILY (who immigrated from S.C. ca. 1780), WILLIAM WRIGHT, (b. 1778 SC) and GEORGE PETERS (b. 1790 Italy) Genealogy reports with supporting evidence, notes, brief biographies, wills, deeds and census records, when available are included. To see a list of descendants check the GEDCOMS in the Alabama Pioneers Library on the free website www.alabamapionners of the names listed above. St. Luke's Records 1829-early 1900's: Danville, Knox County, Ohio Review

Gordon's is the standard nineteenth-century gazetteer for New Jersey. Catholic Families of Southern Maryland: Records of Catholic Residents of St. Mary's County in the Eighteenth Century

Catholic Families of Southern Maryland: Records of Catholic Residents of St. Mary's County in the Eighteenth Century Review

St. Mary's residents played a key role in the development of the Catholic Church throughout the whole of America, providing the spearhead of the westward expansion of Catholicism. In 1785, for example, the first of many Catholic families from St. Mary's crossed the mountains to find land in Kentucky, while a few years later, driven by economic necessity, others migrated to Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana, and Texas.Mr. O'Rourke has collected many of the earliest surviving records of the Catholic families of St. Mary's County, Maryland. The most significant portion of the work contains the marriages and baptisms from the Jesuit parishes of St. Francis Xavier and St. Inigoes, which, in the case of baptisms (1767-1794), give the names of children, parents, and godparents, and the date of baptism; and in the case of marriages (1767-1784), the names of the married partners and the date of marriage.
